    Soooo many farewells...

Farewells are never forever, but tricky all the same. As to stuff, well there's a whole other world beyond dry old economics...

    Throwaway/Cleanup Spectrum

Well, this was some of the junk picked up on Saturday by a (relatively) small team of keen cleaneruppers... in what seemed like no time at all, 1 to 2 hours. #soworthit There is no doubt, as a life form with vested interest in the future habitability of this planet, we have to up our enviro-conscience game - individually, as a family, in groups and organisations. A word to the wise... There are so many hidden benefits in getting involved, it beggars belief that more people do

    Buy'em to last

Re-using is a major part of the new ecology - planet friendly economics - beyond the financial alone. And I'd like to think I'm pretty good at it. It's a skill that has been passed down to me, and the rest of my siblings, from my mum. Some might say I'm tight, I have a different viewpoint. As some of you will be aware I have recently moved home. A second downsizing in six years. Great for simplifying living. What is surprising is the keepers, of which there are many. Two were

    Generosity

I was reminded of this cockle-warming human quality last night at the theatre. It is an old theatre, absolutely gorgeous in aesthetics, history and vibe. However, as an old theatre it does have its issues. For one, whilst we had had the good fortune of getting tickets with a good viewing position, one seat had a restricted view. As I had been the one who had really wanted to see one of The Mousetrap's rare excursions out of London, my husband had generously volunteered to tak

    Brick Wall

The other day I posted about hitting the brick wall and asked the question, what do you do? I'd asked, because the previous evening had seen my return to Zumba after an 18 month break. A break that at 15 minutes into the session, seemed more like decades! Yes, I'd hit a brick wall. Luckily my instructor had given me the heads up beforehand, 'Just take your time and ease your way back into things. Do what you can, and when you can't keep up just move in time to the music.' I'm

Home is where the Heart is...

... the question is... does your home suit the whole of you... and I mean the whole of you? I'm a homely sort with a spirit for exploration, contrary to say the least. To overcome this I've always made wherever I am my home, hunkered down, settled, explored the wider community and made the place my own... My heart has travelled far and wide from the middle of nowhere in Australia to the Tokyo in rush hour, it has been my homemaker. All that changed when I stayed in Dartmout

    Moving Home...

Moving home is a funny old business, much like any other major transition in life. There is always an element of necessity, being forced or driven in some way, but also a natural and organic move from one place to another. To start with there's the draw towards that generates a pull. Such a gentle tugging as this compels movement into the unknown which can be disconcerting. The stronger the draw becomes, the stronger the effect on emotions, thoughts, reasoning and relationshi

    How do you learn...?

This article comes with a warning, as it is an exercise in life expansion and is not, repeat not for the fainthearted. Okay, I know, 'How do you learn?' is a big question, so let's be more specific. How do you learn a new skill? I ask, because, it is an important aspect of ongoing lifelong living expansion and, for the most part, the ways and means by which we learn new skills hold us back from living a forever expanding yet consolidating life. So, how do you kick these old w

    Love is...

... what makes us human, humane, warm, nurturing... caring. Human emotionality is a fundamental part of what we are. It lives in our neurology, hormones and either thrives or diminishes at a cellular level. It's all about balance. Should our behaviours be that of someone who acts inhuman, inhumane, negligent or harmful, then we are out of balance at a cellular level. This then goes on to affect our whole life. The less loving in our life leads to a life less loved and lo

    Are you too nice...?

I'm writing about this, because I see too many people, falling into patterns of 'being nice'. As lovely as nice is, being too nice can be bad for you. Why? Underneath it is a battle of 'Yes!' and 'No!'... real discernment and good judgement. I love nice: nice things, nice people, nice places, nice food, just nice, and I think that's where some of us have gone a little awry. The problem is that there are so many people out there who are so nice, that they can't say 'no'. Inst

    Old School or Digital Age...

I am without doubt old school with a nod to technology as a tool - an aide memoir, a means of communication, a calculator, a typewriter, a journal and library. This became all the more obvious today when I was getting a second quote for carpet fitting. The digital age version had visited the day before, with samples, just not the one we had chosen, because 'the producer had stopped producing carpet'. You maybe aware that polypropylene carpets are flying off the shelves just n

    Smooth Transitions - Menopause

I was thinking about menopause this morning. It must be one of the biggest changes in any one woman's life. Not only that but it affects everyone around her in a big way. I see menopause as a a real life-changer - time of recovery from and improvement on everything we have been before... with the opportunity to become what really suits... for life. For the most part life transitions are obvious, because something 'obvious' is happening. Going to school, leaving home, grad

Too gooood to share... for real

Well, I'm starting this post here and I don't know if I am doing right for wrong... time will tell. The idea came to light quite a few months ago... I've always been one for the clever one-liner, which more recently has developed into potential titles for a book... a way of getting my version of living better out there into the wider world. I shared the title with a couple of people, just to get it out there really, you know, into the public domain, but something was stoppin

    Just living...

Yes, just living can be transformational in an holistic, life-enhancing way. So, how do you get to live this way? Here's a tip: The next time a life-enhancing event takes place, savour it, immerse yourself in the wholeness of you, life and everything. Open yourself to the pleasures of restorative sleep, then sleep on it, or have a few sleeps on it to ensure the fullness of the event has its effect on everything you are. You will thank yourself for it in the long run. Here's w

    Go and Get Spooked

Panic is a valid emotion, its disorder leads to all forms of anxieties and is the result of PNS and SNS incohesion. Hallowe'en is a great time to go out and panic for real. Once your body experiences panic for real in a relatively safe environment it can begin to untangle and become more animated for real. #Articles #Inspiration #Snippets

    Aha ! Specialist & Generalist... !

That's the problem with finding a niche for yourself in life... it can develop into a rut... The thing is we all do it, quite naturally and organically. I'm talking about, securing ourselves in ways of functional, physical, emotional, rational, spiritual & soulful being that were only ever meant to suit the moments they were lived. ... and the downsides are too numerous to mention... We don't like it, but we can't help ourselves. We don't like it in ourselves, and certainly n

    Living First's Political Arm Awakens...

... and it feels good. I did wonder at times what was going to happen to my passion as I underwent Living First's Living Differently 2018. Yay, it's still in there and, like the weather brewing up a storm. The good news is, because it is now living from the basis of my fundamental human living principles, it's a whole lot wiser, less for the fun of it and more for the whole. At this point in time, it's a tingling in my fingers and in my toes with a real warmth for everything

    Where's 'at home' for you?

I ask, not for a quick answer. As ever with everything Living First, take your time... you might surprise yourself. Yesterday I posted about the state of the universe and the climate just now... drawing out lethargy... and provided guidance... be sluggish... take time out... somewhere where you are at home. Well, I was so surprised by my taking time out that I thought I'd share it with you. No, it wasn't surrounded by nature, alone in a meditative state. Neither was it at ho

    A Happy Brain

OMGoodness... yet another pleasantly unexpected outcome. I don't know whether you know or not, but I'm not just developing a new style of therapy (for want of a better word), I'm living it. Why therapy? Well, I've always been quite the master of self-objectivity, self-scrutiny, research, self-experimentation and life-enhancing transformations, and I have come to realise that most others aren't. So Living First, its therapies and workshops, gives you the chance to be more obje

    Update - Live Differently 2018

Surprising developments... As ever, I had no idea what I was setting myself up for. The last 3 and a bit months have been ones of phenomenal transformation, and of course, beyond the realms of possibility. Needless to say, these things do still surprise me. And it appears that it is now time for me to share... Highly intuitive, creative, fun loving, practical, empathic & willing to get stuck in whenever things had to be done, my transformation through menopause has severely t

    A Magical few Moments

What is it about horses and people...? I've never been a horsey person. The whole, My Little Pony set didn't feature one iota in my childhood. Neither did any other animals for that matter. Despite all of that there has always been a connection, an affinity between me and other animals; one that has grown stronger in recent years, especially through hiking no less. Hiking, oh yes, and that's where I found myself today, connecting with and sharing a mutually life enhancing exp
