Yes, just living can be transformational in an holistic, life-enhancing way.
So, how do you get to live this way?
Here's a tip:
The next time a life-enhancing event takes place, savour it, immerse yourself in the wholeness of you, life and everything. Open yourself to the pleasures of restorative sleep, then sleep on it, or have a few sleeps on it to ensure the fullness of the event has its effect on everything you are. You will thank yourself for it in the long run.
Here's what happens when you don't savour the flavour of a life-enhancing event... no need to beat yourself up... we all do it, we can't help ourselves.
The effects are numerous, here's a few:
You get a rush of woohoo energy that you use to propel your life forwards.
This then forms existential, experiential and physiological benchmarks for personal achievement.
You become your experiences, change and this affects your DNA... (I'm not sure what happens at the stem cell level... perhaps someone can enlighten us?)
The benchmarks form your life's goalposts for achievement and everything short is disappointing.
You live to achieve those unsustainable goals.
As the benchmark is unsustainable in the long term, you begin to travel one of two ways: if you are fortunate enough to have open doors/resources in your life, you continue to live for more hits. If you don't, you tire, and increasingly become disappointed and debilitated. Either way, the unsustainability has detrimental effects on your physical, personal and holistic life.
You can even become enslaved by unrealistic goals.
The important thing is that we know this stuff, which means we can do something about it.
