I picked up a quote by John Maynard Keynes,
... the idea of the future being different from the present is so repugnant to our conventional modes of thought and behaviour that we, most of us, offer a great resistance to acting on it in practice. JMK 1937
So, the mere idea of our future being different is 'so repugnant' to 'most of us' - ugh!
I looked up 'repugnant', half hoping it wasn't as bad as it sounds. I was disappointed. The dictionary definition of repugnant is, extremely distasteful; unacceptable; in conflict with or incompatible.
Ouch ! As an agent for change this mindset or even thought really hurts and yet I know all too well from experience how true it is.
On the whole, people don't want change. Yet speak with them and they're crying out for things to be different!!!
Yes, I confess I have been a believer in change. And I have believed that people are central to things changing. I'm letting all of that go. And you know what, it all starts to begin to feel a whole lot more pleasant.
I've believed in change, because I've seen it happen. I've witnessed people become their better selves. I've also been part of astonishing things happening when we do pull together. So why can't we keep this up? Why do some - maybe most - seem to have to revert to a lesser version of themselves? Why don't more people want to kick into touch all the stuff that holds them back in life?
Answers on a postcard please.
A final thought... we may not be able to be different. However, we can and do become better than we are.
Whilst we're resistant to being different, that resistance does have its gaps - we can and do change.

Actually got around to joining the local library last week, yes, the current work requires more research. I'm loving it. I can't remember the last time I joined a library - other than the uni's back in 2008 and I can't believe I've left it so long.

Just a week away - anything could happen between now and then.
Reiki is a name give to a fundamental element in life's healing process. and those who practice it are attuned to interacting with life on a quantum level. We sense and act differently to others. In so being we can share love, light and good wishes in such a way that's relaxing, healing, allowing clearing, recovery and revitalisation.
Reiki travels wherever it is most needed. However, any form of negativity, aggression etc. acts as a barrier, halting the flow. It goes to the essence of the living. Experienced practitioners are also attuned to the, what should I call it, authenticity of recipients.
