Safe?

According to Maslow, self-actualisation cannot be realised unless all basic needs are realised. Out of them all, safety is our most fundamental need.

But what is it?

What is unsafe?

And, how do we know when we’ve achieved that level of safety necessary to consider ourselves fundamentally safe?

The clownfish evolved to live symbiotically with the anemone - an all-round win-win situation - safe.

There is no doubt, we humans are a stressy lot, and in so being, life becomes stressful.

In many ways we know or get of sense of when we're not safe. However, as life is so hit and miss. it’s understandable that we might never achieve fundamental safety.

Instead we achieve senses of safety to which we become accustomed then live our darnedest to retain them.

We live, experience and learn, gaining senses of our personality, character, environment, ways and means of living – lifestyle if you like. That is, we pick up things that ‘work’ along the way and, because they do work, we stick to those that do as best we can.

Instead of being naturally adaptive creatures, we become creatures of habit that makes living in an everchanging world increasingly difficult and stressful.

Life becomes hard work

The antidote to being unsafe, stressy and stuck is space.

Yes, space in the form of breaths of fresh air - inside, out and throughout.

Whuh!

Yes, you heard, breaths of fresh air... stay with…

Most of you will know when you have those moments of green lights all the way – they’re great. It’s like nothing can stop you. You are alive, living, flying. These are breaths of fresh air.

Some of you will have experienced passing the time of day with someone, and something about it was ‘like a breath of fresh air’. Well, let me tell you, it was a breath of fresh air.

Others will have experienced that total sense of wellbeing… all breaths of fresh air.

Breaths of fresh air are precious phenomenon.

They are clearing, cleansing and healing…

To be relished, cherished and nurtured... yet to always be free.

Free living, free giving, free moving.

Open yourself to let go,

be different!

Be your different!

Safe isn't something you'll know, buy, work at, have or get.

Safe is something you will be.

Safe is you living out of your Oasis of Calm.

The Writing...

Whilst I'm awaiting more feedback, and being busy preparing the manuscript for... publication - I'm working on two other writing projects!

The first is a booklet - rather excited about, as I have permission to used Photograph 51 for the cover. If you don't know about Photograph 51 - look it up. It's literally a snapshot in history that changed our knowledge regarding DNA.

The second is an anthology put together by a group of talented writer in Totnes - for which I'm part of the publication crew! It's a great crew and I'm enjoying being part of it all, yes, even though it does get a little testy at times :-)

I think 3's enough don't you?
