PRIVACY STATEMENT

Living First is a Sole Trader business operated by Pat Fletcher, currently on hold during transition to New Zealand.

Living First will collect certain information about you during the course of its business, and the protection of your privacy and identity is very important to us.  

Prior to commencement of therapy, Living First will ask for written consent to use your information in accordance with this privacy policy.

This information will be used for the following reasons:

  • Your contact information may be used to send you marketing material. You may request that this ceases at any time; you can also ask that your information not be used in this way from the beginning. This information will be held by Google and shared with our Website host Wix who send Blog updates and Shout Out emails that Living First create.

  • Your contact information will also be used to affect any bookings you may make online for therapy sessions; this information will be shared with Living First's booking partner, Calendly, to enable you to amend and/or delete your booking online. This information is kept to enable Living First to meet its contractual obligations to you.

  • Your contact information will also be used to affect online appointments through Zoom. This information is kept to enable Living First to meet its contractual obligations to you.

  • Your email address may be used to send you an invoice or receipt via Paypal Here and may be used to accept payments from you or to issue refunds where needed. This information is kept to allow Living First to meet its contractual obligations to you.

  • All information gathered from you during a therapy session is used only in connection with Living First’s therapy work. Any notes taken during therapy are anonymised and disposed of immediately electronic records are updated. The electronic data will be stored on password protected files on a secure computer. The data is backed up regularly onto an encrypted USB. Other than by direct instruction for disclosure of your information by law, this data will not be shared with anyone else under any circumstances. This information is processed to enable Living First to meet its legal obligations.

Living First will keep different information for different periods of time, as follows:

  • Information Living First keeps for marketing purposes will be kept until you ask for it to be removed. If you ask, it will be removed immediately the request is received.

  • Financial information is required by Law to be kept for seven years. This will include your contact information as invoiced.

  • Information gathered regarding therapy sessions will be kept as part of our legal obligations for a period not exceeding seven years from the date of your final session.

All of Living First’s external partners have committed to operating in accordance with UK Data Protection Laws.

Your rights:  Under the Law, you have certain rights, detailed below. You may telephone on the number above; or by email in your own words to info@livingfirst.co.uk to request any of these rights.

  • The right to have your contact information removed. You can request to remove only marketing information. No information relating to therapy sessions will be deleted as Living First is legally obliged to retain it.

  • You have the right to be sent a copy of all the information Living First holds about you within 30 days of the request. Living First will honour this request as quickly as possible; if it can’t be managed within 30 days Living First will let you know. There will not be any charge for this.

  • You have the right to have your information corrected; if any information Living First holds about you is wrong then Living First will amend it to be accurate. Bear in mind that therapy session notes which are responses you gave to questions at the time are taken faithfully; other notes that are subjective commentary by the therapist will not be changed.

  • From the outset, you have the right to object to the storing and processing of your information; however if you do object then no therapy can proceed; once you have attended a therapy session it will not be possible to remove the written notes about the session due to legal obligations.

  • You have the right to complain about the holding of your information. However, I expect I will do all in my power to ensure all your details remain confidential. Failing that, you can take your complaint to the Courts. If you choose this latter approach Living First would advise you to seek qualified legal advice.
